Come and See What the Lord Has
Done
Come and take a trip back in time with us
to the Philippines and see what awesome things the Lord has done. It is
impossible for us to share everything with you on this newsletter, but as
you come on this 'trip' with us, we'll try to share as much as we can with
you.
First of all, we want to give God all the
glory and praise, because it was only through Him that these things were
accomplished. We also want to thank you all so much for allowing God to work
through you. Your prayers and support have enlarged heaven.
We primarily ministered
in the Metro Manila and Davao City area, but there were Pastors who traveled
from all over the southern region to come to the conference. Ministries
included services at various churches with Filipino and Chinese
congregations, 2 Bible Colleges, the Ecofi Mission Organization and a
business gathering at the Davao GH Office Depot. In these services, we know
of at least 135 people who gave their hearts to the Lord. Praise God! This
brought such joy into our hearts because this is the reason we're in
ministry.
The journey to our
first destination, Davao City, was over 43 hours. Most of our time in Davao
was spent in ministry at several events at the Keith Williams Bible College
and the ECOFI Missions. We were given the honor of dedicating and cutting
the ribbon to the Boys' Dormitory, which many of you were very instrumental
in helping build. This is the most beautiful and modern building in the
campus. The old dormitory was termite-infested thus compromising the safety
of the structure. After the dedication, Dan spoke at the Baccalaureate
Service where there were 14 graduates. Each one was presented with a
Minister's Manual and a monetary gift of $20. For some of them $20 is
equivalent to a whole month's salary.
The following day was
the annual celebration of their Foundation Day. During this celebration, we
presented on your behalf, 18 Study Bibles to each of the Freshmen, 5 guitars
to their main and extension colleges, a 12-channel Sound System, tables and
chairs for their dormitories, books for their library and 13 sets of steel
bunk beds with mattresses for the girls' dorm. Their old beds were wooden
and also termite-infested. They were bunk beds but due to the termites,
they have become single beds. They had plywood tops, no mattresses. Things
that are common everyday things to us are a luxury and a treat to them. Most
of them have never slept on a mattress so to them these new beds are a
luxurious addition. Steel beds were purchased to avoid future termite
problems. Also, think about how many Bibles we have in our homes, yet to
some of them, receiving a good Study Bible is a dream come true. Our
churches here in America have decent sound systems so we can hear God's Word
being preached and taught. All they had was a karaoke, and it was not
capable of handling their annual Pastors' Conference of more than 300
delegates nor their Annual Youth Conferences with more than 1000 in
attendance.
Pastors' and Workers'
conference started the following day with more than 340 delegates in
attendance plus children. During the conference, people flocked to the
altar to seek God. Also, many of these churches have no instruments so they
sing without accompaniment. With that many in attendance, we were not able
to buy a guitar for everyone. Through your giving, we were able to give away
12 Bibles and 20 guitars as prizes for drawings. When their names were
called out, they cheered with joy and came up with faces beaming, as if they
had won a million dollars.
Our last ministry
commitment in Davao was at the Davao Bible College where we ministered
through music and Dan taught a seminar on Leadership and Church Growth.
We then left for Manila
and ministered at a Chinese Church and had the "3 Nights To Remember"
Evangelistic Meetings at the Pasig Bible Christian Church. During the
3-night meetings, we were in awe of the passion this church has for the
lost. The church sanctuary was not very big, so they did not encourage
their church members to come. Each night they went out to the highways and
the byways, as our Lord commanded, picked up people whom they jammed, and I
literally mean jammed, more than 200 people into the sanctuary. They
squeezed about 8-10 people into each pew. They spent almost 2 months in
prayer for these meetings. During these 3 nights, God moved and 85 people
gave their hearts to Jesus.
Your prayers and
support have made an eternal difference in many lives. The eternal impact
you have made has not ended because we left the Philippines, it will go on
and on as these Pastors go out to minister, and it will go on and on into
eternity! All we can say is to God be all the glory and praise! Our deepest
and heartfelt gratitude to all of you!
Greetings from Dan
and Pearlyn Stultz
Greetings to all of you!
We left the Philippines rejoicing and eternally grateful for the salvations
of at least 135 people and for everything that the Lord has done. We wish
you could all have been there to witness the tears of joy, the big smiles,
the surprised looks and the gratefulness of the Filipinos when your gifts
were presented to them. There are no words adequate to describe that to you.
Due to lack of space, everything is briefly shared on this newsletter, but
if you would like to know more, please feel free to contact us by phone,
mail or email. We would love to hear from you and share with you more in
detail what the Lord has done.
When God called us to go
to the Philippines this year, we had $40 in the bank, and that was
designated for a Bible for the Philippines. We prayed and asked the Lord to
provide. We had no doubt in our minds that the Lord has called us to go. By
the grace of God, we stepped out in faith and purchased the plane tickets on
credit, which was around $2,000.00 for both of us. The Lord did not move
until we purchased the plane tickets. When we took that step of faith, God
started to move, the funds started to come in. Nothing happened until we
ordered the tickets. So if God has called you to do something, take that
step of faith. Over and over, we have seen Him do above and beyond our
expectations because that is just His nature, but the first step of faith is
ours to take. When God calls, He always equips. God is good and He is
faithful!
The power of prayer is
another thing that has brought forth this harvest. We always leave for
ministry covered in the prayers of God's people. We have seen great results
because of it. During this trip to the Philippines, we know there were
people all across this nation and in the Philippines praying for us and God
honored the prayers of his people.
God has called us to go
back in 2008. We have already scheduled several weeks of services and
meetings. Please agree with us in Jesus' Name for a greater harvest and a
greater move of God, and all for His glory!
Again, we thank you from
the very bottom of our hearts for everything you've done to change the
eternal destinies of people. They will be eternally grateful to you for
allowing God's love to flow through you. God bless you!
Laughter, Good for the
Soul
On their honeymoon, Eric
took Louise by the hand and said, "Now that we're married, Dear, I hope you
won't mind if I mention a few little defects that I've noticed about you."
"Not at all," Louise
replied sweetly. "It was those little defects that kept me from getting a
better husband."
Prayer
Prayer, what is it? Why
is it so important? Why is it so hard?
Prayer is communication
between you and God. It not only is a way to ask God for our needs, but it
also helps us build a relationship with Him. It's hard because the enemy
will try everything in his power to stop you. He realizes it's one of our
greatest weapons against him.
Great revivals of the
past were all birthed out of prayer. It wasn't who the evangelist or pastor
was or how great they preached. Revivals were great because men and women
longed to see changes in them, in their churches and in their communities.
They began to "Call On God".
All ministry must be
immersed in prayer. Prayer brings God into the center of ministry. Jesus,
according to Luke 6:12 knew prayer was important in His ministry.
Now it came to pass in
those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night
in prayer to God. (NKJV) This verse
alone should be evidence enough for the importance of prayer.
The early church
realized the importance of prayer. In Acts 6:4 it says,
"but we will give
ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the Word."
When we were in the Philippines this year, we saw the results of prayer. At
a church in Pasig, we held three nights of evangelistic services. This
church had been in prayer for these services for over a month. They
continually called out to God for souls. During those three nights of
services we saw the power of prayer at work. Eighty five (85), that's right,
eighty five souls came to Christ during these three nights. A result of
prayer, not only there but here in the States as well.
In another church in the
Philippines where approximately 20+ people attended, the pastor called for
prayer. As the church began to call on God, the pastor said to God, "draw us
close or close us down. That was in 2005. Now, in 2007 they are over 1000
strong and holding four services on Sunday. The church is open from 5:30 am
to 6:30 pm every day for prayer. People are coming in off the streets and
getting saved. Praise God! The power of prayer.
Until next time, Dan
